Abstract
1,046,547. Electromagnetic relays; electrically tripped switches. J. JUCKER. March 6, 1964 [March 8, 1963], No. 9597/64. Heading H2B. The pivoted armature 4 of a relay actuates a plurality of contact sets in the form of microswitches 12 through two co-operating levers 6, 9. Lever 6 is pivoted to a frame 7 about an axis parallel to the pivotal axis of armature 4 and lever 9 is pivoted about an axis perpendicular to the armature axis. On energization of coil 2 lever 6 is raised by pegs 5 carried by the armature and lifts lever 9 so that the pushbuttons 13 of the microswitches are depressed. The lever 9 may be latched in the raised position and released only on re-energization. A lostmotion link may be provided between the armature 4 and lever 6. Two parallel rows of microswitches with a lever 9 for each row operated by a single lever 6 may be provided. Instead of bearing directly on the push-buttons 13 the lever 9 may carry a pawl which drives a ratchet-wheel (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). On the same shaft as the ratchet-wheel is a drum provided with a plurality of longitudinal keyways in which cam members may be selectively placed to operate the microswitches in a determined order. The relay may be used as a counter. The relay may be mounted in a transparent case and be provided with plug-in pins.
