Abstract

1,045,744. Worm presses. LANG GEPGYAR. April 19, 1963 [April 20, 1962], No. 15567/63. Heading B1D. In a vertical screw extrusion press where material from a hopper passes downwardly through a spoked driving wheel connected to the upper end of the screw, a cylindrical casing surrounds the start of the screw. As shown in Fig. 1, material from a hopper 9 passes through a hollow wheel journalled at 7 which has a cylindrical wall 14 held by vertical or oblique spokes 13. A cylindrical casing 4, surrounding the start of the screw carries, via spokes 3, the upper bearing 2 of the screw.
