Abstract

1,044,535. Conveying documents. M. BOHLER, and F. WEBER, [trading as MESSRS. BOHLER & WEBER KOMM. GES.], and TELEFUNKEN PATENT VERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. June 5, 1963 [June 5, 1962], No. 22272/63. Heading B8A. Cheque counterfoils 7<SP>1</SP> are delivered by a conveyer 9 and through an apparatus 6 to a point 20 at which they are united with the correct account statements 5 on a conveyer belt 4. The counterfoils 7<SP>1</SP> matching a particular account as they arrive at the apparatus 6, are placed in a container 10 respective to the account. The containers 10 are moved on in accordance with the action of a photo-electric cell 13 and a shift-register 11. A shift-register 17 and photo-electric cell 18 control the progress of the account statements 5 on the conveyer 4. The number in a circle adjacent each statement 5, indicates the number of counterfoils in (or destined for) the respective statement. The containers 10 in the apparatus 6 are fed by gravity and a friction wheel drive under the control of locking devices coupled to the register 11 (Fig. 2, not shown). The containers 10 may be closed by a flap. If the latter is not open, or if the container is not in position when a counterfoil is fed from the conveyer 9, a flap (Fig. 4, not shown), may be operated so as to deflect the counterfoils to an emergency container. In a modification (Fig. 5, not shown), the containers 10 move in a closed circuit and are lifted up into alignment with the conveyer 4 by a rotary spider-shaped member.
