Abstract
1,042,691. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. T. MABUCHI. March 23, 1965 [Dec. 9, 1964; Dec. 16, 1964], No. 12179/65. Heading H2A. A brush means in a miniature electric motor comprises two metallic brush devices a, b, each consisting of base plates 1, brush plates 2 and link plates 3 interconnecting said base and brush plates and each mounted on the motor or a plug for the motor, properly spaced apart from each other, the brush plates being formed with integral projected and outwardly-extending plates 2a disposed centrally of the upper rims thereof and adjusted to receive the commutator inserted therebetween, the metallic brush plates elastically restoring against and engaging with the surfaces of the commutator. Each base plate 1 is formed with a trilateral box portion 1a having a depending portion 1b receivable in a slot in the motor case or plug for mounting the brush (Fig. 4, not shown). The slot may be situated adjacent a pillar having a catch at one end to secure against the upper surface of the base plate and the portion 1b may be provided with a protrusion to engage the undersurface of the motor casing or plug (Fig. 5, not shown).
