Abstract
1,042,241. Securing trimming strips for buildings. ZEPPELIN - METALLWERKE G.m.b.H. March 16, 1964 [March 14, 1963; March 18, 1963], No. 11032/64. Heading E1V. Trimming strips 18, Fig. 2, having undercut channel formations, are secured to ceiling joists or wall battens 4 by fastening devices 1 each comprising a base member having spaced apart upstanding walls 6 to which are pivotally mounted spring-loaded levers 9 each having a portion 11 which engages the undercut of the channel under the influence of the spring 13, and a portion 10 to engage the base member which thereby acts as a stop against pivotal movement of the lever in the direction of action of the spring 13 beyond predetermined limits. The trimming strip is engaged with the devices by movement in the direction of the arrow 19, the levers 9 being thereby rotated against the springs 13 until the parts 11 engage behind the undercuts of the channels, removal of the trimming strip being thereafter normally prevented due to the stop action provided by the portions 10 of the levers. If removal of the trimming strip is required, tools 20, Fig. 3, are used to rotate the levers against their springs 13 to disengage the parts 11 from the channel undercuts. In a modification, Figs. 9-14 (not shown), the device 1 is designed for use with trimming strips with channels opening on its lowermost face.
