A bath seat has upstanding hand-grips 6 bent to a V- or undulating shape to prevent the user's hand from slipping. In a seat, which is adjustable to fit different widths of bath, each plastic coated tubular metal frame 2 may be in two telescopically interengageable parts or, two part frames may be slidably engaged in sockets in seat 9. A frame supporting a canvas back-rest may be fixed in seat 9 (Figs. 3-5, not shown) and, in this form, a centrally depending telescopically adjustable strut or struts may be arranged to engage the bottom of the bath to stabilize the seat. The ends 5 may be extended to form a towel rail (Fig. 2, not shown) or a soap-dish may be pivotally mounted on one hand-grip (Fig. 6, not shown).
