Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1039964/C2/1> wherein R is C1- 4 alkyl or 2-hydroxyethyl and X is an anion, or double salts of such compounds. Starting materials.-3 - Fluoro - 4- dimethylaminoaniline was prepared by hydrogenating 3 - fluoro - 4 - dimethylamino - (2,5 - dichlorophenylazo) benzene; the diethylamino analogue was prepared by hydrogenating N,N-diethyl-2-fluoro-4-nitroaniline which was made by reacting 3,4-difluoronitrobenzene with diethylamine.
