Abstract

1,039,913. Current stabilizers. MAATSCHAPPIJ VOOR ELECTRISCHE BEDRIJFSAUTOMATISERING ELECTROFACT N.V. April 16, 1964 [April 29,1963], No. 15875/64. Headings G3R and G3X. An arrangement for supplying a stabilized current comprises a D.C. source 10 connected over an emitter resistor 8 and the emitter collector path of a transistor 5 to load terminals 6,7, a voltage divider 3, 4 connected across input terminals 1, 2 for supplying an approximately constant bias to the base of transistor 5, and a further resistor 9 connected between terminal 1 and the emitter of transistor 5. The Specification describes how the resistance value of resistor 9 may be calculated so that this resistor compensates for any slight variations, caused by input voltage variations, in the bias voltage derived from voltage divider 3, 4. The resistor 8 and resistor 3 may be constant current devices such as iron-hydrogen ballast lamps. The device 4 may be a Zener diode, a glow discharge tube, a voltage dependent resistor, an electrolytic voltage-stabilizing cell, or one or more selenium rectifiers arranged in the forward direction.
