Abstract
1,039,716. Crystal resonators; frequency modulation. BENDIX CORPORATION. March 4, 1965 [March 5, 1964], No. 9301/65. Headings H3R and H3U. A piezo-electric crystal 10 is connected in series between terminals X, X with an inductor 12 and a semi-conductor junction 14 having a capacitive reactance which is variable by a variable D.C. voltage applied across its terminals. The junction 14 and inductor 12 are made series resonant at a frequency equal or close to the series resonant frequency of the crystal. The D.C. voltage is derived from a source 28 and is supplied to the junction 14 through a potentiometer 26 and resistive network 18, 20, 22, 24, 30, the resistors 20, 30 being temperature-sensitive so as to compensate for temperature-related changes in the crystal 10.
