Abstract

1,039,665. Luggage carriers for vehicles. A. C. GADEY. July 2, 1965 [June 18, 1964], No. 25221/64. Heading B7J. A luggage carrier for watertight mounting on the roof of a motor car comprises a top 1 and front, back and side walls, 2, 3, 4, of sheetmetal or resin-bonded fibre-glass, the lower edges of the carrier being tailored to fit the roof of the vehicle and being fitted with a U-section rubber beading 5. The carrier is attached to the roof by clips 9 hooked over the roof guttering. A layer of felt is placed on the car roof. The top 1 includes a removable hinged lid sealable to the top 1 by a rubber beading 6, and lockable.
