Abstract

1,038,997. Locks. KESO A.G. May 10, 1963, No. 18646/63. Heading E2A. In a cylinder-type lock the key slot 31 is of substantially rhomboidal cross-section and tumbler pins are disposed in bores in the cylinder 4 which lie along two angularly spaced radial planes with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder and are perpendicular to one or other of a pair of adjacent sides of the slot. As shown, the lock includes a bolt 3 which is movable into locking and unlocking positions by means of a toothed ring 8 which is carried by the cylinder 4 eccentrically mounted on a cylinder secured in a lock case 1, teeth 9 and 10 on the ring 8 being engageable with notches 12 and 13 on the bolt 3 in the retracted and projected positions thereof respectively. The bolt is indexed in these positions by a spring-loaded ball 16. The key is provided with recesses 30, Fig. 2 (not shown), with which the tumbler pins co-operate and the number of recesses may be varied in a number of keys for several locks, to provide master and servant-key operations. More than two rows of pins may be provided.
