1,038,963. Pressure suits. BAXTER WOODHOUSE & TAYLOR Ltd., and E. H. TAYLOR. May 8, 1963 [Feb. 8, 1962], No. 4938/62. Heading A3V. [Also in Division A5] A trunk restraining harness to maintain a pressure suit in position during pressurization comprises a restraining singlet 5 as described in Specification 955,099, adjustable straps 11, 12, releasable buckles 14, 15, and an endless cord 16 running in tubes 17 18 made of metal or plastic having a low coefficient of friction, the tubes 18 being attached to the suit so that the harness may slide relative to the suit at the crutch. Alternatively or in addition such tubes may be provided at the shoulders. A helmet restraining harness similarly comprises an endless cord running in tubes 22 attached to the singlet by straps 23, 24 and tubes 20 attached to the helmet. A cummerband 26 and neckband 28 are provided to constrict the waist and neck to facilitate bending.
