A vehicle has a roof with a concave upper surface 1 provided with an opening 5 covered by a fixed, hinged, removable or sliding cover 9 which may be transparent and has a similar concave upper surface. The flanged edge of the roof 1 may have a horizontal flange as shown on the left side of the Figure or an inclined edge as shown on the right. The cover may have a concave or convex upper profile in longitudinal cross-section.
