Abstract
Novel compounds of the Formula I wherein n represents 0, 1 or 2, R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, X represents an oxygen or a sulphur atom, Y represents a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a methyl radical, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, phenyl, tolyl, halophenyl, methoxyphenyl, dimethoxyphenyl, methylenedioxyphenyl, hydroxyphenyl, dimethylaminophenyl, diethylaminoethoxyphenyl, acetamidophenyl, cyanophenyl, styryl, phenylalkyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, methylpyridyl, quinolyl or ferrocenyl (see Example 4) radical, R11 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or phenyl radical or wherein R1 and R11 may together represent a cycloalkylidene radical containing 5 to 12 carbon atoms inclusive or a fluoren - 9 - ylidene, indanylidene, benzocylohexylidene, phenylcyclohexylidene, or 1-alkyl - 4 - piperidylidene radical and wherein the term "alkyl" means alkyl radicals containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms inclusive, are prepare by contacting an amine of the Formula II with a compound of the Formula R1R11C = Z wherein > C = Z represents a carbonyl radical or a radical equivalent thereto for reaction with hydrazine to form a hydrazone thereof, and where n represents 1 or 2, if desired converting into an acid addition salt. <FORM:1038730/C2/1> <FORM:1038730/C2/2> Amines of the Formula II may be prepared by reducing the corresponding 4-nitrosopiperazino-compounds, which may be prepared by reacting a xanthen-9-ol or a thioxanthen-9-ol with 1-nitrosopiperazine in an inert solvent. Amines of the Formula II where n represents 1 or 2 may be prepared by reacting 1-nitrosopiperazine with the appropriate xanthen-9-yl or thioxanthen-9-yl substituted acid chloride and reducing the resulting 4-nitrosopiperazinocarbonyl derivative.
