Abstract

1,038,619. Belt buckles. ALNWICK INVESTMENTS Ltd. June 25, 1965, No. 27163/65. Heading E2A. A buckle comprises two lever members 21 and 28 which are connected at one end and pivot on spaced pins 19 and 17 respectively mounted in the side walls of a U-shaped base 10, two springs 32 on the pin 17 act on the levers urging the lever 21 so that a catch member 27 thereon engages a shoulder 51 on a belt tongue 49. A cover 35 is secured to the base 10 at each end and has an opening 36 allowing manual pressure on one end of the lever member 28, to pivot the lever member 21 clockwise and disengage the catch member 27 from the shoulder 51 freeing the tongue 49. The other end of the belt is adjustably looped round a bar 46 slidable in slots provided in the side walls of the base.
