Abstract

2 - Mercapto - 3 - hydrazinoquinoxaline is prepared by reacting 2,3-dimercaptoquinoxaline with hydrazine hydrate. Water-soluble salts may be formed by treating the product with mineral acids.ALSO:An antileprosy ointment comprises 0.5 to 5% by weight of 2-mercapto-3-hydrazinoquinoxaline in an ointment base chosen from fats, fatty oils, lanolin, petroleum jelly, glycerine, wax, higher fatty alcohols, polyalkylene glycols or a mixture of two or more thereof.
