Abstract
1,037,970. Parachutes. G.Q. PARACHUTE CO. Ltd. July 16, 1965 [July 17, 1964], No. 29945/64. Heading B7G. A parachute is housed in a sleeve 11 with the end of the canopy spaced from the open end 40 of the sleeve, which is folded back upon itself at 35 and held in that position by the rigging lines and by a flap 26. The flap 26 is apertured at 27, 28 to engage over loops 29, 30, the rigging lines being secured by passing them through loops 29, 30 and then successively through other rows of loops 31, 32 on the outside of the sleeve. The enclosure is completed by cover flaps 38, 39. The construction prevents malfunctioning of parachute deployment previously caused by initial dragging of the canopy from an openended sleeve.
