Abstract
1,037,962. Lubricating. DANFOSS A/S. Jan. 7, 1964 [Jan. 15, 1963], No. 772/64. Heading F2A. In a lubricating system for a vertical shaft rotatable in a bearing, oil is fed from a sump 19, Fig. 2 (not shown), through an axial bore 14 in the shaft, through an inclined passage 17<SP>1</SP> which connects the bore 14 with a helical groove 16 and to the bearing (not shown) from where it returns to the sump. The passage 17<SP>1</SP> makes an angle of 30 degrees with the axis of the bore 14 and has a diameter which is at least 50% of the diameter of the bore 14. A tapered tube 18 is attached to the shaft for insertion into the sump 19, the tube 18 having a blade 24 fitted therein.
