Abstract

A composition comprises a major proportion by wt. of polybutadiene and up to 10% by weight of a copolymer comprising at least two monomers selected from styrene, alkylated styrenes and alkylated methylstyrenes. The copolymer may also contain as an additional monomer a polyalkenyl benzene which contain additional alkyl side chains. The copolymer is preferably obtained by partially dehydrogenating mixtures of araliphatic hydrocarbons, and polymerizing using Friedel-Crafts catalysts or activated fuller's earth. The preferred polybutadienes are those having a high 1,4-cis content. The example describes a composition containing in addition smoked sheet and various conventional additives.
