Abstract

103,759. Arnold, J. E. June 7, 1916. Limbs, artificial.-The turning movement of the wrist is obtained by flexible cords 14, 15 which are secured at one end to projecting portions 6 on the upper arm member 4, and are connected at the other end to a drum 9 carried by the hand and secured by a nut 11 against endlong movement relatively to a cylindrical trunnion member 8 attached to the forearm. The cords pass through tubes 17, 19 and over guides 18, 20 and are wrapped round the drum in opposite directions; they may be duplicated at the other side of the arm.
