Abstract

The invention comprises 3,4-dimethoxyphenyl - a - methylacetic acid - N - dimethylamide and the preparation thereof either by reacting dimethylamine with the appropriate acid halide or by reacting a dimethyl-carbamyl halide with the free acid. Examples are given. The amide of the invention, which is stated to be a good respiratory analeptic, may be made up into pharmaceutical compositions with suitable carriers. Sterile injection solutions and drops for oral administration are described.
