Abstract
1,034,543. Linking machines. F. W. BECK. April 15, 1965 [Jan. 16, 1964], No. 1996/64 and 21154/64. Heading D1G. A linking machine stand has a base provided with a vertical axle upon which is pivotally mounted one end of an arm supported solely by the axle and stand, and adapted to carry an operator's seat. As shown, the base 1 has an upstanding boss 2 in which is rigidly fixed the lower end of a vertical column 3, the upper end of which is adapted to carry the rotary point dial, the stitch-forming mechanism and a driving motor. A work-holding tray is also fixed to the upper end of column 3. A fixed horizontal platform 9 is vertically spaced from base 1 by a block 8. A pair of vertical axles 10, fixed at their respective ends in base 1 and platform 9, journal the inner ends of respective arms 11, the outer ends of which carry operator's chairs. The left hand axle 10 is axially aligned with the point dial. Movement of arms 11 towards one another is arrested by a resilient stop 13 on base 1, and outward movement is arrested by respective resilient stops 14,15 provided on block 8. A micro-switch 23, mounted on block 8, has a member projecting above platform 9 for actuation by the operator's foot to control operation of the machine.
