Abstract

103,439. Silverthorne, W. E. July 26, 1916. Fountain-pen fillers.-In a pour-out for bottles &c., comprising a cork or stopper fitted with liquid-outlet and air-inlet tubes, the openings at the outer ends of the tubes, which are of the same size and shape in cross-section, are bevelled off and disposed in close proximity, so that liquid flowing from the outlet conduit will obstruct the passage of air into the inlet conduit. As shown in Fig. 1, the outer parts of the conduits G, H are inclined, and the upper ends are bevelled off in opposite directions with the heels of the bevels meeting at a point 6 midway between the conduits. The inner part 7 of the inlet conduit H is inclined towards the opposite side from the upper part, and the lower end is bevelled off at 8; the portion 7 may be detachable and arranged to swivel. A shoulder 5 on the flange 4 of the pour-out limits the insertion of the conduits G, H into a fountain pen or other vessel to be filled.
