Abstract

1,033,709. Builder motion. MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER A.G. Dec. 31,1962 [Feb. 26, 1962],No. 49115/62. Heading D1D. An electro-hydraulic device for controlling a ring rail 2, e.g. causing it to perform a building movement, comprises a cylinder 7 having a piston 6, a piston rod 5 for transmitting movement from the piston to the ring rail, e.g. by a lever and roller system 3,3<SP>1</SP>,3<SP>11</SP>,4, ducts 9, 10 leading into the cylinder on opposite sides of the piston, a reversing valve 8 connected to the ducts, a liquid supply pump 28 connected to the reversing valve, a reflux duct 31 connected to the reversing valve, a governor 33 connected in the reflux duct for adjusting the return flow of liquid to the liquid storage tank 27 and a valve 32 in parallel with the governor 33 by which the governor may be by-passed. The reversing valve 8 is provided with a piston 41 connected to an armature 15 so that it may be shifted by the energization of one of a pair of electromagnets 13, 14. The electromagnets 13, 14 are operated by switches 16, 17 which lie in the path of a cam 23 rigidly attached to the ring rail so that the motion of the piston 6 and therefore the ring rail 2 is reversed at each actuation of the switches 16, 17. So that shaped packages may be built the switches 16,17 are vertically moved during winding cams 18,19, driven by motors M 2 , M 3 , the shape of the package depending on the shape of the cams and the speeds of the motors. At the start and finish of winding, rapid motion of the ring rail is obtained by opening the by-pass valve 32 in the reflux duct 31, in addition, the rail may be brought to a halt by closing a valve 26 in the duct 10. By suitable arrangement of switches and time delay mechanisms the valves 26, 32 may be automatically operated so that waste yarn is wound on to the bottom of the spindle at 38 before the winding begins. In addition transfer tails 36, 37 may be wound at either or both ends of the package before or after the main winding. Three separate programmes of winding are described together with the necessary electrical components and circuits.
