Abstract

1,033,498. Selective signalling. LANDIS & GYR A.G. April 5, 1965 [April 14, 1964], No. 14360/65. Heading G4H. An incremental type shaft-displacement encoder includes a rotor, Fig. 3, having high, medium and low portions arranged respectively to block, half-block and not block an airgap in a magnetic circuit forming part of the feed-back coupling in a transistor oscillator, and the oscillator is arranged to have hysteresis, whereby a larger change in coupling is required to stop it oscillating than is required to start it oscillating. The result is to prevent the oscillator being started and stopped spuriously when, as for example in electricity meters, the rotor " dithers " about an equilibrium position.
