Abstract

Compounds R1R2CCl.C(R3)=NOH and their sulphates, where R1, R2 and R3 are hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or R1 and R2 or R1 and R3 represent a polymethylene chain forming a C4- 12 ring, are prepared by reacting R1R2C: CHR3 with nitrosylsulphuric acid in the presence of anhydrous hydrogen chloride to obtain a sulphate as above; treatment with water produces the free a -chloro-oxime. Solvents may be used. The compounds a -chlorocyclohexanone oxime sulphate, 3-chloropentan-2-one oxime sulphate, a -chlorocyclopentanone oxime sulphate, a -chlorocyclooctanone oxime sulphate, a -chlorocyclododecanone oxime sulphate, 3- chloropentan-2-one oxime and a -chlorocyclodeodecanone oxime are claimed as novel.
