Abstract
1,031,974. Hopper wagons. GEB CREDE & CO. G.m.b.H. Aug. 26, 1964, No. 34980/64. Heading B7L. An automatically discharging goods truck, Figs. 2, 4 and 5, has a flat bottom, which is divided by the central longitudinal vertical plane of the truck into two parts 11 which rock outwardly about longitudinal chassis tubes 4 (see Figs. 4 and 5), during discharge and side walls 1 which co-operate with the bottom to bring about discharge and are pivoted at 5 at their upper edges, the bottom parts 11 and the walls 1 being operable by a driving shaft 2 disposed in said plane beneath the bottom, each part 11 having resting thereon a plate 9 which plates 9 are hinged at 10 on an angled cover strip 8 and slide inwards with respect to the bottom parts 11 as these rock outwards, the invention being characterized in that the shaft 2 is connected, to the walls 1 by cranks 7 and cranked rods 6, to the parts 11 by cranks 14 and cranked parts 13, and to the cover strip 8 by a crank 16 and cranked rod 15, all of the rods 6 and 13 passing through " dead centre " positions during opening and closing operations, whereby the walls 1 and parts 11 are " locked" in both their open and closed positions. In a modification the outer edges of the parts 11 are interlocked, in the closed position, with the lower edges of the side walls and the cranks 7 and rods 6 may be omitted. The shaft 2 is rotated clockwise in order to effect the discharging position of the parts 11 and walls 1.
