Abstract
1,031,185. Magnetic recording/playback heads. POLITECHNIKA WARSZAWSKA. March 12, 1964 [March 12, 1963], No. 10459/64. Heading G5R. A magnetic head for recording or playback of digital information comprises a double magnetic circuit including a yoke 1 of magnetic material having a granular structure and not susceptible to eddy currents and a core 4 of high permeability material, and a coil 11 surrounding the yoke and the core. The yoke 1 may bo of ferrito coated with a shield of silver at 7, and the core 4 may be a permalloy foil ending in polepieces 9 separated by a copper insert 3. The ratio of the thickness D of the pole pieces to the separation d should be between 0À1 and 1À5.
