Wireless telegraphy and telephony.-In order to minimize the effect of atmospherics on the receiving-circuits, two inductively-related coils D, D' are interposed in the antenna circuit at opposite sides of the receiver C. The coupling between the coils D, D<1> may be varied, and the inductance of the coil D' adjusted by tapping it at intermediate points. A variable earthed inductance coil B may be interposed between the coil D and the antenna A. The coils are so adjusted that the circuit comprising the antenna A, portion of coil B, primary coil D, receiving-jigger C, and secondary coil D', to earth reinforces oscillations of the frequency to be received. Atmospherics or other irregular oscillations which do not pass to earth through the coil B are stated to be eliminated at the coils D, D<1>.
