Abstract

In a process for forming pleats in web of fabric the fabric is folded to form pleats, placed between relief-surfaced pleat forming cards and then subjected to heating under pressure in the prescence of steam. At least one side of each pleat forming card is formed with a plurality of indentations which are at least 150 p microns deep and which are spaced at least 500 microns from one another so as to take the pleated material.
