Abstract
1,029,616. Automatic speed control systems. SIEMENS SCHUCKERTWERKE A. G. April 29, 1963 [April 28, 1962], No.16816/63. Heading G3R. The speed of a diesel traction engine is maintained at a desired value by varying the load imposed by a Ward-Leonard set or a hydraulic torque converter. As shown the diesel fuel controller 9 also adjusts a datum-speed-signal-generator 12, whose output is compared at 14 with the actual speed signal from tacho-generator 16. Device 14 may be a proportional plus integral regulator and supplies an output representing the desired generator field current to a regulator 17 where it is compared with the actual field current. The device 17 may be a proportional plus differential regulator. The Specification states the regulator may alternatively operate valves controlling a hydraulic torque converter.
