Abstract
1,029,377. Plant for the continuous production of building elements. L. FOULQUIER. July 15, 1964 [June 17, 1964], No. 29144/64. Heading B5A. A plant for the continuous production of building elements comprises a number of stations around a closed circuit, mould carriers 24 transversing the circuit from a casting station 21 to a component removal station 17 where each carrier is tipped sideways and the element is held and removed by a conveyer or transporter 27. The circuit comprises production tracks 2-4 and further tracks 5-10 where the concrete is allowed to set, the mould carriers 24 being transferred from tracks 2-4 to tracks 5-10 by a carriage 13 and are returned to one of tracks 2-4 by a further carriage 14. Each mould, fixed or replaceable on a carrier 24, is loaded with concrete at station 21, passes various finishing stations at 22 and is brought back to a production track as above mentioned to enter a station 16, where the mould is dismantled to allow the formed element to be subsequently removed at station 17 by transporter 27. Cleaning takes place at station 18, reassembly of the mould at 19 and addition of accessories, such as facings, at 20. The mould carriers 24 are moved on tracks 2-10 by devices 15 which comprise cable driven trolleys 52 which run beneath carriers 24 and couple therewith by means of fingers 69 which engage stops 47, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown). The mould carriers are transferred to or from and positioned on carriages 13, 14 by endless chains 42, Fig. 3 (not shown) mounted on the latter, the chains carrying lugs 46 which cooperate with the stops 47 when the carriers have been brought adjacent either pits 11, 12 or the appropriate track. At station 17 a tipper is provided, Fig. 7 (not shown), wherein the carrier 1 is locked by a device 26 and a supporting frame 73, 74, 76 is rotated on roller 78, the building element being simultaneously retained by the transporter 27. Tracks 5-10 may pass beneath heating enclosures 23.
