Abstract

The invention comprises N-methylglucammonium salicylate, pharmaceutical preparations containing it, and its preparation by reacting (a) the parent base or its carbonate or bicarbonate with the parent acid or (b) an acid addition salt of the parent base with a metal salicylate. The compound of the invention is an analgesic and may be administered enterally or parenterally in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, capsules, granules, suppositories and solutions) containing it together with a carrier.
