1,028,104. Primary cells. DOW CHEMICAL CO. May 4, 1964 [May 20, 1963], No. 18401/64. Heading H1B. A primary battery with a magnesium anode has an electrolyte of an aqueous solution of one or more alkaline earth metal, or alkali metal, salts of carboxylic acids containing from 2-6 carbon atoms, being free from strongly polarizing groups and containing at least one methyl or methylene group per carboxyl group or an aromatic acid salt of alkali or alkaline earth metals with at least 2 carboxyl groups per aromatic ring. A chromate corrosion inhibitor may be present.
