Abstract

A flush door F giving access to a switchboard E in the lower tubular part A of a lighting column is flame-cut from the solid-drawn tube itself. The door is inserted beneath a weather strip H and held against welded-on strips G by a captive screw K having a socketed head. The screw K may be replaced by a lockoperated rotary arm. The tube A is welded to a lighter-gauge upper section C.
