Abstract

1,027,935. Moving furniture. NEW EQUIPMENT Ltd. Dec. 24, 1963 [Sept.26, 1962], No. 36624/62. Heading A4U. In a mobile article of furniture having front rollers 7 rear castors 14, fixed legs 8 and a handle 11 for pushing the article the castors 14 are mounted on a carriage pivoted on a horizontal bar 12 secured between the fixed legs 8, the carriage having an operating bar 16 which may be brought into contact with the handle 11 to displace the carriage angularly to a position at which the castors 14 are moved arcuately to engage the floor in an operative position while. simultaneously the fixed legs are lifted. Upon the release of the bar 16 the legs 8 engage the floor and the castors 14 move under gravity to an inoperative position.
