1,027,675. Vitamin D food enrichment. H. J. JOHNSON. Dec. 6, 1963 [Jan. 7, 1963], No. 741/63. Heading A2B. A dry composition for enriching food by vitamin D; for addition to milk especially, is made by dissolving crystalline vitamin D2 or D3 in a volatile, organic solvent, e.g. ethanol, adding a finely-divided carbohydrate exemplified by lactose, skimmed milk powder, wheat starch, maize starch, and drying the mixture. The composition may contain also vitamin A, and, preferably, ascorbic acid is incorporated. The composition may be made into wafers or be tableted.
