Abstract
1,026,944. Heating or cooling liquids in bulk. WEIMAR-WERK VEB. Dec. 4, 1964, No. 49424/64. Heading F4S. A device adaptable as necessary to heat or cool a reservoir 2 of oil used in hydraulic equipment comprises an injector 4 inserted in the exhaust system 3 of an internal-combustion engine 7, a flap valve 6 and a heat exchange coil 1 passing through the reservoir 2. In the position shown for cooling the oil, the flap valve 6 is open. The exhaust gases indicated by heavy arrows then pass to atmosphere through the injector and a pipe 5, and cause ambient air to be entrained through the heat exchanger as indicated by the light arrows; thus cooling the oil in the reservoir. In order to heat the oil the valve 6 is closed so that the exhaust gases pass to atmosphere through the coil 1.
