Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature of an intake system from falling or being overheated which is caused by gas reflux by temperature-controlling the reflux gas with cooling water and performing the control by the use of the reflux gas temperature in the exhaust reflux device of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:The absorption and exhaust tubes 5 and 6 of the diesel engine 1 communicate with the exhaust gas recycling conductor 8. The cooler 9 with a fin inside is provided on the outside of this conductor 8 and and part of cooling water is introduced by the cooling water conductor 8. The electromagnetic ON/OFF valve 14 is installed at the cooling water conductor 13. This ON/OFF valve 14 is controlled in response to the temperature of reflux gas by the temperature detector 15 on the recycling conductor 8.
