Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1026408/C2/1> wherein R is a hydrocarbon group having up to 10 carbon atoms and one or more double bonds, and being optionally substituted by one or more of halogen atoms, or alkyl or alkoxy groups having up to 3 carbon atoms, R1 is an alkyl group having up to 4 carbon atoms, and R2 is a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group having up to 4 carbon atoms, and physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof, and their preparation by reacting an amine of formula <FORM:1026408/C2/2> with an acid R-COOH or a halide, anhydride, ester or azide thereof, and if desired converting a resultant salt into a free base or a free base into a salt. The compounds of the invention have anti-tussive and sedative properties and may be used in pharmaceutical preparations in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, e.g. in the form of tablets, capsules, solutions, suspensions, dragees, or suppositories.
