Abstract
1,025,703. Fuel elements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 11, 1962 [Sept. 13, 1961], No. 32846/61. Heading G6C. A nuclear fuel element can has helical fins, the height of which varies from one to the other over the circumference of the can along at least part of the can, the outer edges of any crosssection of the can, or of said part thereof, thus defining a non-circular boundary around the fins. This results in a reduction in the circumferential variation in heat transfer coefficient between the can and its surroundings.
