Abstract

1,025,508. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. Aug. 12, 1964 [Aug. 16, 1963], No. 32791/64. Addition to 927,485. Heading H2E. An electrical connector assembly comprises a first insulating member 10 having parallel grooves 82, each containing contacts 38 having resilient bowed sidewalls 44, and a second insulating member 12 carrying contacts 48, the member 10 having a slot 26 to receive the edge of a printed circuit panel 28 so that the printed contacts can engage contacts 64 connected to contacts 38. The printed circuit panel is bolted to the first insulating member by means of lugs 32. Contacts 38 are held in member 10 by deformation of eyelets 54 into recesses within grooves 24, and contacts 48 are moulded into member 12, which also has nuts 80 moulded therein for securing it to a support, e.g. a further printed circuit panel. The member 12 has keys 84 to co-operate with grooves 82 in member 10 for polarization purposes.
