Abstract
Particles of a thermoplastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene are coated with a blowing agent such as azodicarbonamide, N,N1 - dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine or p,p1-disulphonylhydrazide diphenyl ether which has been rendered tacky by admixture with a tacky polymer.ALSO:Powdery additives are durably fixed on granules of thermoplastics material by treating the additive with a solution or dispersion of a tacky polymer, eliminating the solvent by evaporation and mixing the so-treated additive with the granules of thermoplastics material. The additive may be a blowing agent e.g. azodicarbonamide, N, N1-dinitroso-pentamethylenetetramine or p,p1-disulphonylhydrazide diphenyl ether; a stabilizer; or an anti-static agent e.g. phosphoric acid N-methyl N-stearyl amide diamide.
