Abstract

1,024,995. Clocks and watches. FARBRIQUES MOVADO and MANUFACTURE DES MONTRES UNIVERSAL, PERRET FRERES S.A. June 24, 1963 [Aug. 22, 1962], No. 24974/63. Heading G3T. A torsion oscillator for electronic clocks comprises two masses 1, 2 fixed to the free ends of two torsion springs 3 which are carried from a support 4 extending perpendicularly to the common axis of oscillation. The support 4 is fixed in its turn to a base 12 by elastically deformable torsive securing means such as the four rods 5. Each mass has a part which extends radially of the axis and respective end parts 1a, 1b and 2a, 2b which extend parallel to the axis in overlapping relationship. Two stationary coils 13 are fixed to the support 4. Each co-operates with magnetic elements 8, 10 carried by each of the masses at one end. The element 10 forms a movable iron core of the coil whilst element 8 is constituted by a magnet its magnetic axis being disposed at right-angles to the coil. The other end 1b or 2b of each mass forms a counterbalance weight. In a modification, the coils co-operate with one arm only, the other arm being merely a reactive member. In another modification, the arms 1, 2 are disposed at right angles to each other, two of the coil and magnet devices being provided for each arm.
