Abstract

1,024,753. Washing bed-pans &c. ALLEN & HANBURYS Ltd. May 15, 1964 [May 17, 1963], No. 19812/63. Heading A4N. Lid 12 and flap 9 are held open by downward pressure on foot-operated bar 10 while a bed-pan is inserted into cradle 3 through slot 8 or urine bottles are placed in rings 4 through the top opening 2. On releasing the bar 10, spring operated levers close both the flap 9 and the lid 12. Downward movement of handle 7 tilts the bedpan or urine bottles into a draining position and may also lock the flap and lid in the closed position. Alternatively, these members may only be locked on starting the washing cycle.
