Abstract

1,024,669. Tar and chipping spreading machines. PHOENIX ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Nov. 24, 1964 [Dec. 6, 1963], No. 48326/63. Heading E1G. A vehicle 1 supports and provides the drive for a conveyer 6 transferring chippings or the like from a hopper 11 to a spreading means 17 preceded by a tar or bitumen sprayer 29, a set of rollers 28 following the vehicle. Push rollers 7 move a truck 9 supplying chippings 10 to the hopper 11. The chippings are screened at 14 and metered at the spreader by a gate 22. Tar carried in a tank 25, mounted on the rollers 28, flows in a circulating system through a pump 33 and adjustable spray bar 29. The wheels 28 forming the rollers are offset for full coverage and may have free axial movement. Conveyers 6 are mounted on each side of the tractor 1.
