Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1024495/C2/1> and their salts with inorganic or organic bases, wherein R1 is an amino group and R2 is hydrogen, halogen, CF3 or a C1- 3 alkyl or alkoxy group, and their preparation by reacting a corresponding nitrobenzenesulphonyl isocyanate with 1-aminoadamantane and reducing the N-nitrophenylsulphonyl-N1-adamantyl-urea obtained as product, to form the corresponding amino-derivative, or reacting a reactive functional derivative of a corresponding benzesulphonyl carbamic acid, substituted by an amino, nitro, alkanoylamino or alkoxycarbonylamino radical with 1-aminoadamantane and, if necessary, hydrolysing or reducing the product to convert the substituent to an amino group and, if an N-arylsulphonyl-N1-(1-adamantyl)-guanidine is first obtained, partially hydrolysing to the corresponding urea. Pharmaceutical preparations having hypoglycaemic activity comprise the above compounds of the invention and a carrier.
