[Also in Division H2] A dry shaver 30 comprises a cutter assembly 38 secured to a unitary support 31 of moulded plastic and an electric motor 52 comprising an armature 53 the ends of the shaft 54 of which are rotatably supported in bearings 55 secured to the support, a field assembly 81, 82 supported by a pair of U-shaped bail clamps 34, the ends of the legs of which are secured to a bail hanger 35 mounted on a portion 31b of the support, and a commutator 65 having associated therewith a brush terminal assembly 66 which comprises a moulded brush mount 70 secured to the support 31. The cup-shaped casing 32 of the'shaver is secured by screws 37 to a hanger bracket 36 provided with pins 36a engaging the bight portions of-the clamps 34. Field winding 81 is connected to terminals 64 supported in an insulating plate 87 mounted on a depending member 31i of support 31. Brushes 76 are biased against the commutator by means of contact levers 77 which are interconnected by a tension spring 80. The cutter shaft 39 is oscillated from the armature shaft 54 by means of a drive mechanism 92. The cutter shaft is bonded to resilient blocks 40 supported in recesses in the support 31 and in end caps 47, 48 secured to the support. In a modification, Figs. 11 and 15 (not shown), the casing of shaver 100 comprises two sections 101, 102 of moulded plastic secured in face-to-face relationship by clips 144 and screws 145, the section 102 comprising means for mounting thereon the cutter assembly 38 and electric motor 106. In a further modification, Figs. 20 and 22 (not shown), shaver 160 comprises a T-shaped support 161 of moulded plastic, the cutter assembly 199 being secured to the head 161a of the support and the electric motor 163 being secured to the leg of the support. The support is secured to the casing 208 by screws 193.
