Abstract

Hand-trucks of the kind which run upon a single pair of wheels 2 at one end of the body have an auxiliary pair of wheels 3 to assist the mounting of kerbs or floors of a higher level. The axle 8 of the wheels 3 is preferably adjustable along the truck according to the height of the kerb, and also so that these wheels may serve to support the truck in a substantially horizontal position for loading. For this purpose, the axle 8 bears upon fixed longitudinal bars 15 and carries also guide angle-plates 17 engaging the bars 15 Adjustment is effected by a bar 10 with handle 11 bolted to the axle and passing through a fixed end bracket 12.
