Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula (I) <FORM:1022650/C2/1> (in which R represents hydrogen, halogen, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, R1 represents a phenyl group substituted by a halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group having at most 4 carbon atoms, or an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having at most 4 carbon atoms, and R2 represents an alkyl group having at most 4 carbon atoms) and acid addition salts thereof, pharmaceutical preparations containing them, and their preparation by (a) reacting a compound of the Formula (II) <FORM:1022650/C2/2> (in which X represents a nitrile group, a carboxy group, a carbalkoxy or an acid chloride group), with a metal alkyl compound and hydrolysing the product, or (b) oxidizing a compound of the Formula (III) <FORM:1022650/C2/3> optionally followed in either case by acid addition salt formation. The preparation of starting materials of Formulae (II) and (III) is described. The compounds of the invention are vasodilators of the coronary vessels and may be administered parenterally or orally in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, dragees, solutions and suspensions) containing them together with a carrier.
